Amirabdollahian: Iran does not tolerate Zionist regime's presence near its borders

Tehran, IRNA - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian announced that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not and will never tolerate the Zionist regime's presence near its borders and will take the needed measures.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran does not tolerate the presence and activities of the Zionist regime against its national security and will take any necessary action in this regard," Amirabdollahian said in a meeting with the new Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tehran on Thursday.

He reiterated that countries have the right to hold military exercises inside their territories to defend their national sovereignty.

Amirabdollahian also underscored the importance of mutual cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Azerbaijan.

The new Azeri envoy, Ali Alizadeh, for his part, called for bilateral relations between Baku and Tehran.
