-- Ground is paved for safe foreign investment in Iran: MP

The ground is paved for safe investment with the guarantee of capital and profit in Iran for foreign investors, announced a member of Civil Committee of the Iranian Parliament.
Pointing to the offered facilitation for Iranians living abroad to invest in Iran, Eqbal Shakeri told Iran Daily that President Ebrahim Raisi has ordered making preparations for foreign direct investment (FDI) in the country.

The role of foreign investment in improving the economy of countries cannot be denied, as the benefits of this issue are visible in categories such as economic growth, job creation, technology transfer, increasing competitiveness, improving financial and human resources.

-- Tehran, Baghdad stress bolstering bilateral ties in energy sector

Iran’s oil minister and Iraq’s electricity minister emphasized the need for enhancing bilateral ties in the field of energy.
Iraq’s visiting Minister of Energy Ziad Ali Fazel held talks with Iran’s Oil Minister Javad Owji in Tehran, stressing the need to strengthen mutual cooperation in the field of energy, especially the export of gas from Iran to Iraq.

-- Iran keen to increase its trade with Turkey: Official

The chairman of the Iran-Turkey Joint Chamber of Commerce announced proposals for boosting the level of trade and economic relations between the two countries. The level of trade and economic ties with Europe can be promoted using the transit routes and taking advantage of the trade capacities of neighboring Turkey, Mehrdad Sa’adat noted.
Talking to IRNA, he pointed to the upcoming visit of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Turkey and emphasized that the joint commission has prepared suggestions for promoting the volume of trade and increasing the level of mutual ties with this country that will be raised during this visit.

-- Italian Writer’s ‘Iran’ Published in Persian

‘Iran’, a book by prominent Italian writer Italo Calvino which features his travelogue to our country has been published in Persian and is available in Iranian bookstores.
Like his compatriot writer Alberto Moravia, Calvino traveled to Iran where he became familiar with the culture of our country and wrote a travelogue about that. ‘Iran’ has been translated into Persian by Gholam-Reza Emami. Rabeed Publishing has released this book in 48 pages.

-- ‘Iran Project’ Exhibition Opens in Ashgabat

A specialized exhibition of the achievements of the Iranian companies called “Iran Project” opened in Turkmenistan’s capital on Friday. The opening ceremony of the event was attended by Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash and Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rasit Meredow.
As many as 300 Iranian companies and businesses have attended the event where they have put their latest achievements on display.

-- Energy Minister: Iran Ready to Supply Pakistan With 2,000 MW of Electricity

Iran’s Minister of Energy Ali Akbar Mehrabian has said that his country is ready to supply neighboring Pakistan with 2,000 megawatts of electricity.
Speaking in a meeting with Pakistan’s Minister of Energy Muhammad Ali in Tehran on Thursday, Mehrabian stated, “The development projects in the Gwadar area of Pakistan need at least 2,000 megawatts of electricity.” He added that Iran is prepared to supply Pakistan with the needed electricity.

-- ‘Iran-Turkmenistan trade exchanges noticeably increasing this year’

Iranian Transport and Urban Development Minister Mehrdad Bazrpash announced the significant growth of trade exchanges between Iran and Turkmenistan this year and said: “In addition to trade and transit exchanges, the two countries have good cooperation in the field of energy.”

The minister made the remarks in the inaugural ceremony of the 15th Iran Project exhibition in the Turkmen capital Ashgabat on Friday.

--  Breaking bread and borders: a taste of Italy in Tehran

On Thursday, Rome’s embassy in Tehran organized a culinary event that went beyond just taste to the realms of craftsmanship, memory, cultural heritage, and novelty.

In an exclusive interview with the Tehran Times, the Italian ambassador Giuseppe Perrone attached great importance to the cultural significance of the event, saying: “The cuisine is a very distinct social function. It is very important so we need to celebrate it.”

“In fact, today, as you see, a number of Iranians are with us, enjoying these dishes prepared by Italian chefs, who have come all the way from Italy,” the ambassador said. “Here in the event, we want to showcase it, to promote it with the people of Iran.”

--  Tehran, Yerevan sign MOU to remove Aras pollution in a year

Iran and Armenia have reached an agreement on removing pollution from Aras River within a year. Stretching to 1,072 kilometers, Aras River is one of the largest rivers in the Caucasus, and one of the most important rivers in Iran which besides attracting tourism and positive ecosystem effects, has important potential for fishing.

The river has become a source of pollution posing threats to people’s lives residing northwestern part of the country due to the flow of heavy metals out of the Armenian factories over the past decade.
