Iran FM's aide in Pakistan to talk bilateral ties, developments in Afghanistan

Islamabad, IRNA -- Director General of West Asia at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rasoul Mousavi, who is in Islamabad to attend the meeting of senior officials of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has met with Pakistani officials on developments in Afghanistan.

Mousavi leading an Iranian Delegation met with Chairman of Institute of Strategic Studies of Islamabad (ISSI) and Director, Centre for Afghanistan, Middle East & Africa (CAMEA) in Islamabad on Friday and discussed bilateral relations, regional developments, including the situation in Afghanistan.

The discussion was moderated by Chairman Board of Governors of ISSI Ambassador Khalid Mahmood and was also attended by Mohammad Sorkhabi, Deputy Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran.  

The Special Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran is scheduled to participate in a meeting of senior officials of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation with the agenda of Afghanistan tomorrow, Saturday.

An extraordinary meeting of the foreign ministers of Islamic countries hosted by the Pakistani government will be held on Sunday at the Pakistani National Assembly in Islamabad.
