Russian politician criticizes UAE for inviting Israeli regime to COP28 conference

Moscow, IRNA - A former Russian official has referred to the Iranian Supreme Leader's call for cutting off vital supplies to the Israeli regime, saying that the call for sanctioning the regime to push them to stop their crimes in Palestine is a very right move.

In an interview with IRNA published on Sunday, Sergey Nikolayevich Baburin, the former Vice Speaker of the Russian State Duma, told that taking practical steps to support the Palestinian people in the current circumstances is of great importance, arguing that if certain Arab states always supported Palestine, the tragedy in Gaza would probably never happen.

Answering a question on inviting Israeli officials to take part at the United Nations Climate Change COP28 conference in Dubai by the United Arab Emirate (UAE), Baburin said that inviting representatives of the Israeli regime, particularly the head of the regime, in the current circumstances when we are witnessing a calamity in the Gaza Strip, can only be justified if the partakers ask Tel Aviv to recognize Palestine as a legitimate state with its capital in East Jerusalem al-Quds.

In a bid to help stop the Israeli atrocities against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei earlier emphasized that the main task of Islamic governments should be to cut off the Israeli regime from energy and goods.
