In a meeting with the visiting Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu on Tuesday, Bagheri attached importance to cementing mutual ties.
The bilateral relation is expanding, he said, adding that the mutual cooperation is undergoing fresh dimensions.
The ongoing developments in the world indicate that the era of the unipolar world has come to an end, he said, adding that the structure of the international system is reshaping to a multipolar world.
For his part, the Russian defense minister said that the visit is taking place to expand defense ties in the issues of mutual interest.
He voiced his country’s readiness to resolve the disputes between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The official stressed the need for the establishment of educational cooperation and exchange of university students.
During the meeting, he also called for holding joint military exercises.
Shoigu arrived in Tehran on Tuesday afternoon, heading a high-profile military delegation.
