Daryoush Hamedkhah, head of the Kish Ports and Maritime Organization, told IRNA on Sunday that the ship can carry 170 people, including crew members.
Hamedkhah expressed gratitude to an Iranian investor for supplying the new vessel to maritime authorities in Kish.
The high-speed passenger ship sails from Kish Island to Chaarak in less than 45 minutes, the official said, adding that the speed of the vessel is between 20 and 23 knots per hour.
The ship will help commuters travel between the island and the Iranian mainland in a shorter time.
The vessel sails from Kish to Chaarak every day on 7:00 am local time.
