Iran-China agreement to be operationalized in President Raisi's Beijing visit

Tehran, IRNA – The political affairs deputy head of President's Office referring to upcoming visit by President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi said mechanism of operationalizing Iran-China comprehensive agreement will be finalized.

Mohammad Jamshidi in a televised interview on Sunday night added, "Chinese President Xi Jinping during his August, 2022 meeting with President Ebrahim Raisi in Shanghai Conference in Samarkand invited him to have and official visit to China.

He said that the presidential visit will be economic, political and strategic importance.

"The foreign diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is based on economic convergence focusing especially on Asia," Jamshidi added.

The political affairs deputy at President's Office added, "We are after establishing broad-scale economic cooperation with China, whose cradle is the comprehensive Iran-China cooperation document."

He said that in the visit of the deputy prime minister of China to Iran we had negotiations on various committees to take care of implementing these agreements and now we are ready for implementing them.

Jamshidi said that the mechanisms for implementing the comprehensive Iran-China agreement, which was initially on paper, are now on the verge of being implemented particularly in this presidential visit.

China is Iran's topmost economic partner, and according to the past 10 months' statistics of the Iran Customs Organization, Iran has exported goods worth $12.6to China in that period and imported goods worth $12.7 billion during the same period.
