Education min: Iranian students' enrollment in embassies' schools illegal

Tehran, IRNA – Education Minister Yousef Nouri said that enrolling Iranian students in foreign embassies schools in Iran is against the Islamic Republic of Iran's laws.

Nouri said that the foreign embassies' schools are exclusively for the children of those embassies' employees, and the Education Ministry has forwarded letters in this respect both to the embassies and to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran in that respect.

Nouri said that the Education Ministry has not issued any permit to such schools of any type, and their schools must therefore be exclusively at the service of the children of their own embassies, and their citizens in Iran.

The education minister said that the schools of foreign countries' embassies must act in accordance with the protocols of the education ministry of the country where they are.

The minister, furthermore, stressed, "Studying of Iranian students in the schools of foreign embassies is illegal."
