Serik Zhumangarin made the comment on the sidelines of his visit to the Agricultural Jihad Ministry of Iran in a press conference, reiterating, "Presently Iran-Kazakhstan's relations have grown to the strategic level."
He said that several meetings have been convened about bilateral trade at presidential, ministerial, and managerial levels.
The deputy Kazakh prime minister further reiterated, "Those sessions must lead to boosting our commercial and economic ties, and today we exchanged views on increasing our trade volume to 3 billion dollars, at least one billion dollars of which would be allocated to agricultural products."
He added that Kazakhstan is ready to export barley and wheat to Iran and to import citrus fruits, stem plants, dates, pistachios, and persimmons.
Zhumangarin said that having logistical relations has a strong effect on trade ties, as all logistical facilities, including railways, airlines, roads and naval transportations can thus be used by both countries.
"For example, I am heading for Bandar Abbas tomorrow to arrange for the establishment of Kazakhstan Commercial Terminal, which will be the infrastructure for our bilateral trade," he added.
He further said that there have also been negotiations on swapping oil and agricultural products, as well as electricity among Iran, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, and also establishing a Joint Agricultural Committee, so that thee two countries famers will be able to import and export their products easily.
The trade minister of Kazakhstan also invited the Iranian investors to make investments in Kharbez city, on border of Kazakhstan and China.
The top official of Kazakhstan also announced the ongoing arrangements between him and the Iranian road and urban development minister for lifting of visa requirement between the two countries.
