Railways in northeast Iran transit near 1 million tons of goods

Mashhad, IRNA – About one million tons of commodities have been loaded from railways of Khorasan in northeast Iran and transported to international destinations and to different places across the country as well during the first six months of the Iranian calendar year started on March 21, 2022, a provincial official announced here on Tuesday.

Mostafa Nasiri Varag, director general of Khorasan Railways, made the remarks speaking to IRNA.

According to provincial officials, Khorasan Railways were transporting and exchanging 4.5 million tons of goods before the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Since its outbreak in December 2019, the coronavirus pandemic has killed 6,650,000 worldwide.
