-- Iran’s exports grew by 50% despite sanctions

Under the incumbent Iranian administration, Iran’s exports grew by 50 percent during the year to August 20 compared to the corresponding figure for the preceding year, announced the Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari.
The fact that a high-ranking official farom Iran’s Foreign Ministry reported this speaks volumes about the significance of the close connection between the country’s diplomacy and economy, which has also been repeatedly highlighted by Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi ever since he took office one year ago.
That was why his administration employed foreign policy to serve the economy. The goal was to create new capacities and openings for ensuring an economic boom and resolving economic problems while the country is dealing with sanctions and the “maximum pressure” policy adopted by the U.S.

-- Iranian trade minister to visit Moscow exhibition

Iranian Industry, Mine and Trade Minister Reza Fatemi-Amin will visit the Russian capital on Monday to participate in Moscow’s motor show, the press service of the trade mission affiliated to Russia’s Embassy in Tehran said in a statement.
"On August 22, a delegation headed by Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran Fatemi-Amin will visit Moscow to participate in the ceremony of the opening of the Iranian pavilion at the ‘MIMS Automechanika Moscow 2022’ international exhibition," the statement said, reported TASS.

-- IME weekly trade tops $721m

The Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) announced that over 2.57 million tons of commodities worth over $721 million were traded in its domestic trading and export halls in the week closing on August 19.
A total of 1.98 million tons of various products, worth about $477 million, were traded at IME’s domestic and export metal and mineral trading hall, ime.co.ir reported on Saturday.

-- Iran Welcomes Kenya’s Presidential Election Result  

The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry has congratulated the Kenyan government and people on holding a successful presidential election after Deputy President William Ruto was officially declared the winner. 

Nasser Kanaani praised the role of the Kenyan government, parties, politicians, ethnic elders and religious leaders in holding the vote, describing it as an example of successful experience in the region and the wider African continent. 

-- IOOC: 1st Phase of Developing Esfandiar Joint Oilfield to Start

 The Chief Executive of Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) said that the first phase of development of Esfandiar Joint Oilfield has been put atop the agenda of the company.
According to the scheduled program, it is predicted that the construction operation of the first phase of the oilfield will be completed within the next 36 months, Mehdizadeh stated.

-- Iran Finish 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games in Third Place

Iran finished in third place in the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya, Turkey from Aug. 9 to 18.
The closing ceremony of the Games, with the participation of 4,200 athletes from 54 countries, was held at the Selçuk University 15 July Stadium. The ceremony started with the hoisting of the Turkish flag accompanied by the National Anthem. After the flags of the participating countries were paraded, light and fireworks displays were held.

-- World sales companies line up for Iranian film “Zalava”

Five international sales companies have purchased the rights to the acclaimed Iranian drama “Zalava”. LevelK, EG Entertainment, Remain in Light, Corinth Films and PT Falcon will handle sales of the film in different regions of the world, the Iranian distributor Khaneh Film has announced.

Winner of the grand prize at the 36th Venice International Film Critics’ Week, “Zalava” is Arsalan Amiri’s directorial feature debut. 

-- ‘Iran can use Indonesia as a hub for marketing its products in ASEAN countries’

Indonesian Ambassador to Tehran Ronny Prasetyo Yuliantoro says Iran can use Indonesia as a hub for marketing its products in the ASEAN countries.

The envoy made the remarks in an interview conducted by the Tehran Times on the sidelines of a ceremony to celebrate ASEAN Day 2022 in Tehran on Tuesday.

-- Morocco volleyball coach advises sightseers to test Iranian cuisine

Ruben Wolochin, volleyball head coach from Argentina who currently works in Morocco, has said Iranian hospitality and cuisines are exemplary among countries across the world.

Wolochin on Thursday said he enjoyed having Iranian soup, kebabs, and salads, but especially advised foreign tourists in Iran to test the trademark cuisine, Ghormeh Sabzi herb stew, which is made with lamb or beef, vegetables, and beans.

Fresh from a trip to the Islamic Republic where he met dozens of the locals, Wolochin said, “During our trip to Iran, we were surprised; of course, positively. All Iranians are hospitable and friendly, and the food is delicious.”
