-- A deal on JCPOA in the making?

A day after Tehran sent its response to the latest draft of the potential Vienna agreement to the EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, the air is filled with speculation over the content of Iran’s response as well as the future of the nuclear negotiations.
Iran’s top nuclear negotiator reported to the Iranian president on Monday that the most recent talks revolved around putting an end to politically-charged claims about safeguard issues and receiving assurances about Iran’s economic interests from the deal. Earlier, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian claimed that Washington had shown flexibility on two out of three issues. Apparently, the only remaining issue is whether the Americans will give assurances that they would not back out of the deal.

-- Putin blasts U.S. ‘hegemony,’ predicts end to ‘unipolar’ world

Russian President Vladimir Putin accused the United States of trying to encourage extended hostilities in Ukraine as part of what he described Tuesday as Washington’s efforts to maintain its global hegemony.
Addressing a security conference attended by military officials from Africa, Asia and Latin America, Putin reaffirmed that he sent troops into Ukraine in response to Washington turning the country into an “anti-Russia” bulwark, AP reported.

The European Union is assessing Iran’s response to what the bloc has called its proposal to save a 2015 nuclear deal, and consulting with the United States, an EU spokesperson said on Tuesday.
“For the moment, we are studying it and we are consulting with the other JCPOA participants and the U.S. on the way forward,” the spokesperson told reporters in Brussels, referring to the nuclear deal by the official abbreviation JCPOA.

West Needs Conflicts to Retain Hegemony

Former President Donald Trump in his first interview since the FBI raided his Mar-a-Lago home called it a ‘scam’ and said the U.S. is ‘in a very dangerous position’.
Trump gave his first interview on the matter a week after FBI agents searched his residence and removed 11 sets of classified documents. He spoke shortly after a leaked bulletin indicated the FBI and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) warned law enforcement agencies of increased threats.

-- Kuwait upgrades ties with Iran in broader thaw

After six years of continued absence, Kuwaiti has sent an ambassador to Iran in a move that has been widely seen as the beginning of a thaw in broader Iran-Arab relations. 

On Thursday, the Iranian foreign minister had many meetings but only one drew the attention of observers: the meeting during which the new Kuwaiti ambassador to Iran, Badr Abdullah al-Munikh, submitted a copy of his credentials to Hossein Amir Abdollahian at the beginning of his tenure. 

-- Iran’s response to EU is a complete package

After an extraordinary meeting of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) chaired by President Raisi on Monday afternoon, Iran’s top negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani wrapped up Tehran’s final response to the EU proposals.

-- Iranian vessel retrieves seized oil, leaves Greece

An Iranian-flagged tanker has reclaimed an oil cargo that the U.S. had confiscated and is on its way to depart Greece, people knowledgeable with the situation say.

Following the seizure of the Lana, previously the Pegas, Iranian soldiers seized two Greek tankers in the Persian Gulf in May, which have yet to be freed.
