-- Iran-India trade grows by 53%
India’s Ministry of Commerce said that the country’s trade with Iran has increased 53 percent, to hit $1.4 billion, in the first half of 2022. The latest figures released by India’s Ministry of Commerce indicated that the country’s trade with Iran accounted for $1.37 billion in the first half of 2022, IRNA reported.
The statistics showed a 53 percent growth compared to the same period last year when their trade was $897 million. In the first half of 2022, India exported $1.04 billion worth of goods to Iran and imported $335 million worth of goods, according to India’s Ministry of Commerce.
Basmati rice accounted for 60 percent of Iran’s imports from India, while the South Asian country mostly purchased fruits and oil products from Iran. Iran-India trade in the first half of 2022 nearly equaled their total trade in 2021.
-- Iran Khodro prioritizing exports to Russia
Iran Khodro, the Middle East’s leading automaker, is eyeing Russia’s large market which the Europeans have abandoned amid the raging Ukraine conflict.
Mehdi Khatibi, Iran Khodro’s managing director, said the carmaker is prioritizing exports to Russia which has a lot to learn from the Islamic Republic about how to take the West’s expanding sanctions in its stride, according to Press TV.
“We are going to pay special attention to the Russian market, and we are also thinking of partnering with Russian investors,” Khatibi was quoted as saying.
“We have held good negotiations with Moscow. The Russian market, with its capacities, will be one of our important markets,” he added.

-- Iran Tanker Retrieves Oil Stolen by U.S.
An Iranian-flagged tanker has retrieved an oil cargo which the United States had confiscated and is set to leave Greece, sources familiar with the matter said on Monday. The seizure from the Lana, formerly the Pegas, prompted Iranian forces in May to seize two Greek tankers in the Persian Gulf which have not yet been released. The United States had hired a tanker in April to impound the oil onboard the Lana tanker, which had been anchored off Greece. The oil was then partly removed and placed aboard the Ice Energy tanker, which had been chartered by Washington and had been expected to sail to United States before Greece’s supreme court ruled that the cargo should be returned to Iran.
-- IRICA: Exports to Neighbors Grow 22%
The spokesman for Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi has said in the first four months of the Persian year of 1401, 27,035,000 tons of goods worth $16,871,873,000 have been traded between Iran and neighboring countries.
Latifi added that these figures show an 18% rise compared to the same period in the year 1400.
As for exports, Latifi said some 20,711,657 tons of goods worth $8,871,733,655 accounted for Iran’s exports in the first 4 months of this year.

The Iranian women’s national hockey team finished Asian competitions in the fifth place on Sunday. The Iranian women’s national indoor hockey team landed in fifth place in Asia.
Iran’s women’s national indoor hockey team played against Chinese Taipei in their last match of the Asian Championship and won their rivals. The Iranian side won the match on penalty shootouts. Meanwhile, the Iranian men’s national hockey team played against Thailand and defeated 12-3.

-- IRISL transports 3,000 tons of goods along INSTC in 2 months
The Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) has transported 3,000 tons of goods as well as 114 TEUs of container commodities along the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) over the past two Iranian calendar months (May 22-July 23). As IRNA reported, IRISL formed an operational working group for the development of transportation along INSTC in early April and the company has so far allocated 300 vessels to the transportation of goods through this corridor.
The north-south corridor was primarily launched with the aim of transiting goods between India and Europe through Iran; however, it remained in the early stages of execution for many years.

The underground city of Samen in Malayer, Hamedan province, has a unique structure and is a top tourist attraction, the deputy provincial tourism chief has said.
Because of the existence of human skeletons and its granite stone structure, the underground city of Samen can be considered a unique attraction of the region, CHTN quoted Ali Khaksar as saying on Sunday.
It should also be noted that most troglodytes across the world were built in a bed of alluvial stones, sandstone, and clay, and digging them was not very hard, while the Samen underground city was built in a stone bed and is between three and five hectares in size, he explained.
