Palestinian PM: Israeli regime using withheld Palestinian corpses in labs

Tehran, IRNA – Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh on Monday said that the Zionist regime is using withheld Palestinian corpses in university laboratories.

“The (Israeli) occupation authorities are augmenting the pain of the families bereaved at the loss of their children by withholding the corpses of their children and using them in the laboratories of medical schools in Israeli universities,” Palestine News and Info Agency, known as WAFA, quoted Shtayyeh as saying.

The Palestinian official stressed that what the Israeli regime is doing is “flagrant violation of human rights, values, principles and scientific ethics.”

He called on universities around the world to halt cooperation with the Israeli universities involved in withholding Palestinian corpses in a bid to put pressure on the Zionist regime to show respect for the dead Palestinians and to immediately release their bodies.

The Palestinian prime minister was speaking at a weekly cabinet meeting held in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, WAFA reported.

He also said that Israel has killed 78 Palestinians, including 15 children since the beginning of 2022.

During the mentioned period, the Zionist regime has unleashed a brutal crackdown against Palestinians across the occupied territories, conducting raids almost on a daily basis.

Those raids have targeted different parts of the West Bank, especially the flashpoint city of Jenin where Palestinian youths conducted a number of deadly operations against Israelis in response to the regime’s atrocities against Palestinians, as well as its desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque located in the city of Al-Quds and regarded as the third holiest site in the Muslim world.
