Iran says ready to exchange environment knowledge with Kenya

Tehran, IRNA - The head of Department of Environment of Iran expressed readiness to exchange knowledge and offer training to Kenyan park rangers.

In a meeting with the Kenyan Environment and Forestry Minister Keriako Tobiko on Thursday, Ali Salajegheh said that Iran had organized training courses for Kenyan environment experts and park rangers and Tehran is willing to continue the courses.

He invited the Kenyan counterpart to travel and closely see Iran’s environment and expressed hope that a MoU would be signed by the two countries to follow up environmental cooperation.

In turn, Tobiko said that Iran and Kenya have a lot of similarities in their environment and they can cooperation on all areas, including cultural and environmental issues.

He said that Kenya was in need of Iran’s technology to combat desertification and water shortage.

The two officials were meeting on the sidelines of the Fifth United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) in Nairobi.
