The United States and Britain along with some other Western states, who have a long history of crimes against human rights, imposed sanctions on some Iranians, while negotiating teams kicked off the second phase of the seventh round of the talks for lifting anti-Iran sanctions and reviving the 2015 nuclear deal in Vienna, Austria.
Such a move against the Islamic Republic indicates the West's insincerity as it has been repeated in the past times.
The US administration added names of eight Iranian national and four entities to its sanction list on Tuesday, claiming that these people and entities violated human rights.
On Wednesday, Britain's Parliament, following the US policies against Iran, sanctioned three Iranians, including a reporter, an interrogator, and a former chief of Evin Prison in Tehran.
Experts in regional affairs questioned the Western powers' seriousness in talks with Iran and removal of misunderstandings because they imposed new sanctions on Iranians while they are in the middle of negotiations with an Iranian delegation to resolve disputes over commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday and a few hours before the beginning of the current round of Vienna talks that the US administration is moving towards intensifying sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
According to the report, Washington decided to dispatch a high-ranking delegation to the United Arab Emirates in order to discuss the issue of anti-Iran sanctions with the allied country, which is also an important trade partner of Tehran.
The US officials are going to hold talks with UAE-based petrochemical companies, private banks and other firms, which have billions of dollars transactions and trade ties with Iran.
Meanwhile, the UAE opposed imposition of new sanctions against Iran if the Vienna talks fail to bear fruit.
The Western powers plan to ask Chinese officials to put pressure on Tehran to give concessions. They are also using diplomatic tools to convince Beijing to stop importing oil from Iran.
The American authorities have said that the US is cooperating with financial firms in Japan and South Korea to track what they claim is illegal trade with Iran.
Despite the fact that the US continues sabotage amid the Vienna talks, the European Union's coordinator for the nuclear talks Enrique Mora underlined the need for reviving the JCPOA, noting that there is a fresh attempt to reach a consensus and revitalize the international accord
The attitudes of the US and Europe led Iran to lose trust in a signature without guarantee, so Tehran is pursuing a Game Theory paradigm in the Vienna talks to urge other signatories to the JCPOA to accept a punishment for violating the agreement in the future in order to prevent from potential disloyalty.
