Iran’s long jumper wins gold at Paralympics

Genaveh, IRNA – Amir Khosravani, Iranian long jumper at T12 class, could grasp the gold medal at the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan, (24 Aug - 5 Sep, 2021).

With a 7.21 meters’ jump, Khosravani won the gold medal at men's long jump T12 in which 10 world athletes had participated.

Head of sports office of Ganaveh in southern Iranian province of Bushehr, Rahman Emadi, told IRNA on Monday that Khosravani could also break his own record.

Khosravani’s gold medal is the fourth Iranians have won since the start of the Para games.

Leinier Savón Pineda, from Cuba, and Said Najafzade, from Republic of Azerbaijan, received the silver and bronze medals in men's long jump T12.

In Rio 2016 Paralympic Games held in Brazil, Iranian Para athletes could also win eight gold, nine silver, and seven bronze.
