Iran Para judoka wins gold at Tokyo Paralympics

Tehran, IRNA – Blind Iranian judoka, Vahid Noori, could win a gold medal at the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo (24 Aug - 5 Sep, 2021).

Noori came first in men's -90 kg after defeating his British rival powerfully.

Noori has also a gold medal from Asian Para Games 2018 in Jakrata, Indonesia, at his record.

According to world ranking, Vahid Noori is the second in men's -97 kg.

Earlier, Iranian Para athlete, Rouhollah Rostami, won the first medal of Iran in powerlifting at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.

In Rio 2016 Paralympic Games held in Brazil, Iranian Para athletes could also win colorful medals including eight gold, nine silver, and seven bronze.
