In the inauguration of the production line of the combat vehicle, General Amir Hatami said, 'The strategy of the Ministry of Defense is to update defense equipment used in the military forces with domestic capacities.'
Saying that the readiness of the defense forces of Iran has reached its peak, he added that Toofan was designed according to the needs of the armed forces for a vehicle with the capability of travelling in high speed, moving on steep slopes, and breaking through barriers.
It can carry 10 people, pass over barriers up to 50cm high, and pass through water canals with the depth of 1.5m; and the price of vehicles of this class is up to $500,000, he said.
