Eight planes, helicopters added to Iran’s air fleet

Tehran, Sept 21, IRNA - An official at Iran Civil Aviation Organization announced that eight airplanes and helicopters have been added to the country’s air fleet in recent days.

Majid Hassanloo, Director General of Engineering and Flight Capacity of the organization said with the arrival of an Airbus A340 plane some 250 seats have been added to the capacity of Iran’s air fleet.

The eight aircraft include an Airbus 340 (A340), four Robinson helicopters (Robinson-44), a Piper plane (Piper PA-34 Seneca), two PA-28 and one Eurocopter AS350 Ecureui helicopter.

He said that the Robinson helicopter has been imported for the first time for training flights with helicopter.

Noting that currently there are four Airbus A340 planes in the country, Hassanloo said the total number of active commercial-passenger transportation fleet now stands at 134, expressing hope that by the yearend new planes will be added to the Iranian air fleet.
