In the ceremony which was held in the venue of Moscow Foreign Literature University on Saturday evening, participants paid tribute to Hafez.
Iran’s Cultural attaché in Moscow Abuzar Ebrahimi appreciated Russia Iranology Foundation for holding the festival and said it was the first student poetry night in Moscow.
Referring to high position of Hafez in the world poetry, Ebrahimi pointed out that the American renowned writer Ernest Hemingway wrote his internationaly aclaimed book “Old Man and the Sea” upon two verses of Hafez poem.
He also talked about abilities of Persian language and its capacities.
Russian well-known Hafezologist Marina Risner said that she devoted all her life to Hafez poems and is honored for his efforts to promote Persian language and Hafez poems in Russia.
She added that poetry is Iranian greatest art and Iranians are standing in the highest peak of poetry and are able to write poems for everything.
The Russian scholar continued if you like literature and poetry, then you would like Persian language, because this language has been created for poetry.

Moscow, Oct 21, IRNA – Great Iranian poet Hafez was commemorated in Moscow in a ceremony attended by students of higher education institutes and a group of Iranologists and masters of the Persian language.
