National unity will prevent the U.S. from exploiting Iranian situation: President
President Masoud Pezeshkian (3rd from R) chairs a cabinet meeting on May 25, 2025.

Pezeshkian asserted that the key step to confront the enemy is to create cohesion and unity inside the country.

Tehran, IRNA – President Masoud Pezeshkian has once again underscored the critical importance of national unity, saying that the Americans will not be able to exploit the Iranian situation if they realize unity and empathy within the country.

Pezeshkian made the remarks after Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi presented a report on the fifth round of indirect Iran-U.S. talks, during a cabinet meeting on Sunday afternoon.

The president stressed the need of maintaining respectful interaction and social cohesion at every level, especially in the health sector. “We must work to improve the livelihood of the people,” he said.

Pezeshkian also called for expanding and strengthening relations with countries in the region and beyond.

“We are well capable of solving our domestic problems”, he said, adding that many issues can be resolved by developing relations and cooperation, especially with neighbors.

In the cabinet meeting, Araqchi was among several ministers who presented their reports on the latest developments in their respective departments.

Araqchi has led five rounds of negotiations—three in Muscat and two in Rome—with U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff, mediated by Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi.
