Venezuela's president censures ICJ for keeping mute on Gaza genocide

Tehran, IRNA – Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has slammed the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over its silence in the face of the Zionist regime’s genocidal war on Gaza.

According to Caracas-based Telesur TV network, Maduro underlined in a televised program that a genocide is taking place against the Palestinian people, noting that the complicit silence has its roots in the influence of "the Western empire lobby" in the United Nations.

He questioned the role of the ICJ in response to the Israeli crimes, saying, "What has the ICJ done? Nothing. Because every judge of the institute is being appointed by the Western empire lobby of the US and Europe."

Maduro urged the ICJ on Wednesday to stop the Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. He also expressed certitude that the UN court has done nothing to support the right to life of the Palestinian nation.

The Venezuelan president pointed to the Israeli regime’s crimes in the Gaza Strip, saying that every day, they kill children and women with precision missiles, every day they destroy hospitals, churches, and mosques, every day they commit massacres. They have destroyed 80% of the houses, apartments, buildings, and infrastructure throughout all of Palestine.

He had earlier said that what the criminal military regime is doing is the same job that Hitler had done against the Jewish community.
