During a meeting Tuesday with Mehdi Zeighami, the head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization, Lozano highlighted the longstanding presence of Swiss companies in Iran and their eagerness to sustain their operations in the country.
The ambassador raised the issue of allocating funds for powdered milk production and the tax issues encountered by Nestlé, and urged a settlement of these matters.
Nestle Iran has its headquarters in Tehran and operates two factories in other cities, one producing infant cereals and formula and the other bottled water.
In response, Zeighami reassured the Swiss envoy that the “systemic problem” of providing funds for powdered milk production would be resolved in the coming days.
