Raisi terms preserving Iranian identity as significant

Tehran, IRNA - Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has described the preservation of Iranian identity as significant for the Iranian expatriates.

President Raisi made remarks at the Nowruz Meeting of Iranian expatriates in Tehran on Wednesday.

Describing the preservation of identity for Iranian expatriates as significant, President Raisi noted that the government has duties and responsibilities with regard to them.

Emphasizing the importance of the role of Iranians abroad in preserving Iranian culture, civilization, and identity, the President called the preservation of Iranian identity very important for Iranians abroad in all ages and generations and added, "The relationship of Iranians abroad should not be cut off from their country and homeland under the pretext of job or education, because being Iranian is a great honor for all Iranians around the world".

The Iranian president called confronting tyranny while strongly defending the homeland and self-sacrifice and striving to reduce the evil of the Arrogant from the region among the great honors of the Iranian nation and added, "The young people of this land have made significant achievements by turning sanctions and threats into opportunities in the fields of science, industry and technology".

Inviting Iranians abroad to visit science and technology parks and learn about the unique achievements of Iranian scientists and specialists, the President emphasized facilitating the return of Iranians abroad to their homeland and added, "The government is ready to provide the necessary platforms for the activities of Iranian investors in in the country and also to provide the return of Iranian students, so that both the capital and knowledge of Iranians living abroad can be used in the way of serving the country."

The Iranian president also called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to create a special task force to deal with the legal and consular issues of Iranians abroad, to set up the Science and Culture Department of the Council of Iranians Abroad with the aim of continuous and effective communication with Iranian scientists and intellectuals living abroad.

President Raisi continued by emphasizing that a very bright and prosperous future is before the Iranian nation and referred to efforts to spread hopelessness and despair as the enemy's strategy to stop the Iranian nation, saying, "The government considers it its duty to do jihadist work to strengthen hope in the society and we expect all podiums to thwart the enemy's attempt that is aimed at stopping the Iranian nation by disappointing the people, especially the young, by correctly explaining the actions taken".

Earlier on Tuesday, Foreign Ministry's Deputy for Consular, Parliamentary, and Iranian Expatriates' Affairs Ali-Reza Bigdeli said that consular services are being provided to many Iranians in countries where they have been granted citizenship.
