-- Iran welcomes Iraq’s diplomatic capacities in JCPOA revival talks

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said Tehran has no direct relationship with Washington, but it uses all diplomatic capacities to realize Iran’s national interests, especially in the talks aimed at resurrecting a 2015 nuclear deal abandoned by the United States.

Nasser Kanaani made the remark in an address to a press conference on Monday, saying, “Some governments have already played a role in this regard in good faith. Some governments are interested in using the capacity of their relations with both sides, and we will always welcome these joint efforts in good faith.

-- Iran-China economic ties to flourish

The ties between Iran and China have never seen any turbulent conditions over the past few millennia, as the two ancient and civilized nations have always adopted win-win approaches and strategies in different historical periods to double benefit from the development capacities of each other.

The civilized relationship serves one day on a commercial route like the Silk Road, and the other day meets the complementary economic and strategic needs of each side by the other side.

A relationship that has not only secured the interests of the two sides, but also has offered an admirable service development of the international community by establishing new platforms capacities.

-- Iran expects EU states to be realistic

Ahead of a resolution that the European Parliament passed late Thursday to demand the Islamic Revolution Guards Crops (IRGC) be designated as a “terrorist organization”, Iran had warned the European Union about the consequences of such a move. Iranian authorities’ stern warnings appeared to have prompted several EU officials to set in motion efforts to prevent tensions between Tehran and Brussels from spiraling out of control.

Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom noted in a telephone conversation with Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian that the resolution was nonbinding. Billstrom, whose government holds the rotating presidency of the EU, also highlighted his country’s push to expand dialogue between the bloc and Iran.

-- Russia, Iran Discussing Technical Issues of Oil, Gas Swap Deal

 Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has said that Tehran and Moscow are still in talks over a potential agreement that will allow the delivery of Russian oil and natural gas supplies via Iran to other countries under a swap arrangement.
Novak described a potential swap agreement on oil and gas supplies between Iran and Russia as a “promising project”.
“Technical possibilities are being addressed, which is why this is regarded as a promising project,” said Novak.

-- CBI Posts Economic Growth of 3.6%

Central Bank of Iran (CBI) figures show that the country’s economy continued to grow in the second quarter of the calendar year that started in March 2022 despite continued economic pressure caused by American sanctions.
CBI figures showed that Iran’s gross domestic product (GDP) had expanded by 3.6% in the three months to September 22, 2022 compared to the same quarter in the previous year.
The figures showed the non-oil sector of the Iranian economy had also expanded by 3.1% year on year in the September quarter.

-- Iran, Turkmenistan Expand Cultural Ties

The Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance of the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasized that Cultural relations with Muslim neighboring countries are the priority of the government’s plans.
Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, left for Ashgabat in order to participate in Iran’s cultural week programs in Turkmenistan.
Iran’s cultural week in Turkmenistan will be held from February 12 to 14, 2023 with the joint cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s embassy and Iran’s cultural attaché office, and the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.

-- SAVAK top torturer joins farce of ‘regime change’

- Concurrent with the 44th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, a few hundred demonstrators marched on Saturday through downtown Los Angeles, demanding for “regime change” in Iran. Members of the anti-Iran terrorist organization Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MKO), monarchists faithful to the Pahlavi dynasty, as well as one notorious figure who cheerfully posed for photos amidst the anti-Iran circus, were among the participants.

Parviz Sabeti, the former deputy chief of SAVAK, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi’s so-called “secret police,” chimed in the rally and was eager enough to pose for a snapshot along with his daughter outside Los Angeles City Hall.

-- Iranian Cultural Days open in Turkmenistan

The Iranian Cultural Days opened on Sunday in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, to celebrate the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution. Groups of Iranian artists and artisans attended the cultural festival to showcase their latest works in numerous exhibitions.

In addition, several Iranian bands are also in Turkmenistan performing concerts of traditional music. Several acclaimed Iranian movies have been selected to be screened during the cultural festival, which ends on Tuesday with a special ceremony at the Palace of Mukams.

-- Lake Urmia shrinks despite precipitations

 Despite recent precipitations, the area of Lake Urmia has decreased by more than 1,000 square kilometers. Located in northwest Iran, Lake Urmia is the largest lake in West Asia and the sixth-largest Salt Lake in the world with a water surface area of 5,000 to 6,000 square kilometers.

Rainfall in the catchment areas of Lake Urmia is also facing a decrease of about 47 millimeters, ISNA quoted Arezoo Ashrafizadeh, an official with the Department of Environment, as saying.
