West Azarbaijan governor general hails Iran-Turkiye durable ties

Urmya, IRNA – Cultural, social and religious commonalities between Iran and Turkiye have made ties between the two neighboring countries durable, said Mohammad Sadeq Mo’tamedian, the governor general of West Azarbaijan Province, northwest Iran.

He made the comment as he hosted the new Turkish consul general to the provincial capital Urmiya.

Mo’tamedian said that relations between Iran and Turkiye are expanding, adding that West Azarbaijan Province and border Turkish provinces paly a key role in this regard.

He also said that the two neighbors aim to increase their bilateral trade to $30 billion, stressing that the target can be met thanks to the vast economic capacities of the two countries.

The Turkish consul general, Fehim Çetin, said on his part that Turkiye will make efforts to expand economic cooperation with Iran to hit the trade targets set by the two countries.
