** IRAN DAILY

– Iran-EU eight-month trade up

Iran and the European Union (EU) member states traded €3.40 billion worth of commodities during January-August 2022, while the figure was €2.65 billion in the same period of 2021, according to data released by the EU’s statistics office Eurostat.
 

– Iran blacklists 19 Western officials, entities: FM

Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Wednesday Iran would backlist at least four Western institutes and 15 officials in a tit-for-tat response to new European Union sanctions.

Amir-Abdollahian said those people and institutes have played a role in imposing sanctions on Iran and inciting "violence and extremism" that have caused insecurity in the country during the recent unrest following the death of a 22-year-old woman.
 

– U.S. sanctions taking toll on Iran EB patients

U.S. sanctions have denied Iranian patients access to bandages used for a rare skin disease known as epidermolysis bullosa (EB).

“The problem of EB patients is the bandage that is made in Sweden, which is not available in our country, and due to U.S. sanctions, cannot be obtained,” said founder of Iran’s EB Home, Hamidreza Hashemi, whose daughter suffers from the disease, IRNA reported.

– Role of Universities in Fighting Bullying Powers

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said here Wednesday universities are one of the greatest fortresses against attempts by arrogant powers to dominate the country, calling on the elite community to stay vigilant against enemy plots.

“Universities are a key pillar for the country’s progress. Enemies of the country’s progress value any opportunity that can harm, close, or cripple universities. Universities are one of the largest obstacles standing in the way of the arrogant powers’ domination,” said Ayatollah Khamenei during a meeting with young talents and intellects.

– IRGC Concludes Operations on Third Day of Drill

The ground forces of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Wednesday carried out heliborne and parachute jump operations during a military exercise in Iran’s northwestern border regions. On the third day of the ‘Mighty Iran’ war game held in the Aras region, the IRGC special forces conducted heliborne operations with Mil Mi-17 helicopters. The participants in the war game also seized the routes and heights controlled by the hypothetical enemy.

– Iran Says Ready to Address Arms Issues With Ukraine

Iran says it is ready to talk to Ukrainian officials to address allegations that it is arming Russia and plans to ramp up military cooperation with it, as the war in Ukraine nears the end of its eighth month.

In a statement issued late Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani reiterated Tehran’s denials about sending drones to Russia to be used in the conflict, and for the first time expressed readiness for “dialogue and negotiation with Ukraine to clear these allegations”.

Iran and Qatar have stressed preparing a roadmap to boost the value of trade between the two countries to three billion dollars by 2025, the portal of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) reported.

– Iranian inventors shine at INOVA 2022

A team of Iranian inventors grabbed the gold medal at the 46th International Invention Show (INOVA 2022), which was held in Osijek, Croatia, on October 12-15.

The event was organized by the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) and the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA).
