Describing the achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran's railways in the field of transit, Salehi stated that the 13th government in Iran has made transit a top priority in the field of rail transportation in the continuation of active transport diplomacy.
Referring to the first transit train that had departed from Russia and destined to India through the Iranian rail corridor, he noted that this was a container train and has traveled about 3,800 kilometers from Moscow to Sarakhs in Iran.
Salehi stressed that about 5 other trains have been loaded from Russia and are being departed in the direction of Iran, which is a promising transit issue for the country.
The eastern route of the north-south corridor is currently fully operational and serves the country's transit with full capacity, he reiterated.
