The top Iranian diplomat made the remark on Monday during a webinar with his New Zealand counterpart Nanaia Mahuta.
Amirabdollahian said that Iran is currently hosting more than 4.5 million Afghan refugees and is offering services to them, calling on the international community, as well as friendly countries such as New Zealand to help in this regard too.
Mahuta praised Iran for its humanitarian stance to host the Afghan refugees, and said that New Zealand's policy also calls for establishing peace in Afghanistan and assisting refugees from that country.
The two ministers discussed Tehran-Wellington relations as well.
Amirabdollahian welcomed the formation of a joint economic-political committee, expressing hope that it would help promote bilateral ties.
