Pakistani official says ties with Iran historic, inseparable

Islamabad, IRNA -- Chairman of Pakistan’s Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) says the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan are not separate from each other and we attach great importance to these historical and inseparable relations.

Qibla Ayaz said this during an interview with IRNA on Wednesday on the sidelines of a conference "The Importance and Necessity of Islamic Legislation in Solving the Challenges of the Present Age" in the presence of the Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought Shahriari in Islamabad.

He said Pakistan has historical relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and we are pleased with Iran's actions in the area of Islamic legislation.

He added the two neighboring countries have a close view and effective laws in the field of Islamic legislation and civil rights, and we will study and research on the experiences shared by the board of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.

"Iran and Pakistan are not separate and we have a long-standing friendship and relationship, which dates back to the era of the Regional Development Cooperation Organization," the official said.

Referring to the basic needs of Pakistan’s Balochistan from Iran, especially the export of electricity, he said we look forward to cooperate with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of energy and believe that the development of Pakistani Balochistan depends on using capacities of neighboring Iran.

Qibla Ayaz, expressing confidence in the strong political and economic relations between Tehran and Islamabad, said Pakistan always considers the concerns of Iran first and that is why Pakistan refused to join Yemen war.

"Iran is Pakistan's closest friend and neighbor, and we have established a balance in other regional affairs to stabilize these relations, because we never want these relations to be overshadowed," he said.

Chairman of Pakistan’s Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) added the parliament and the government of Pakistan made a final decision in the case of Yemen, and this proves the importance of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran for the Pakistanis.

Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) is an important governmental body that reviews bills in the field of religious affairs and provides expert opinions to government institutions and figures.
