Vienna draft includes 80% of Iran demands: European source

Tehran, IRNA – A final draft text of the seventh round of the Vienna talks comprises 80 percent of Iranians’ new suggestions, a European source said.

A European source told IRNA on condition of anonymity on Friday that the P4+1 group (Britain, France, Russia, China plus Germany) wanted to negotiate with Iran on a draft of prepared at the end of six rounds of talks in Vienna, Austria, but the Iranian negotiating team proposed two draft texts in the seventh round.
The Iranian side underlined that their propositions are on the basis of the previous draft, but it contains new points and revisions, the source said, adding that the two sides held intense talks to reach a joint text, comprising 80 percent of Iranians’ demands.
The source went on to say that the negotiations are naturally very hard, but the progressing trend makes the Western side hopeful to reach a consensus that would be desired by all parties.
The European Union issued a statement on Thursday announcing that the next Joint Commission meeting of the Joint Comprehension of Plan of Action (JCPOA) will be held on December 27 in Vienna.
Negotiating teams from Iran and the P4+1 halted the seventh round of talks on last Friday to return to their capitals for more consultations.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Thursday that following two rounds of talks in Vienna the delegations agreed upon a joint document, which is an important progress.
Amirabdollahian underlined that good faith and seriousness will help reach a good agreement.
Pointing to other sides’ claim that they are concerned about Iran’s nuclear advancements, the Iranian top diplomat urged them to lift sanctions in order to get rid of their concerns on Iranians’ peaceful nuclear program.
