"The level of economic relations between Iran and Belarus is not sufficient and satisfactory while the completion of joint projects of the two countries as soon as possible can accelerate and facilitate the development of bilateral economic interactions," President Raisi said during the meeting with President Lukashenko in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on Thursday.
"I seek to develop economic relations in the region and I have instructed the economic and technical ministers to pursue the implementation of joint agreements," he added.
President Raisi pointed out that Tehran and Minsk have very good grounds and capacities to deepen relations, and good and constructive bilateral political relations can help to make these capacities operational more and more quickly.
He, meantime, pointed to the US government's acknowledgment of the failure of the policy of maximum pressure against the Iranian people, and said, "Development of regional relations is one of the ways to counter sanctions, and countries like Iran and Belarus have found ways to overcome sanctions."
President Lukashenko said that no country has succeeded in imposing sanctions on other countries, and sanctions are essentially a failed policy in the world.
"We need to form a joint work group in addition to accelerating the completion of joint projects to develop an operational roadmap to improve relations between the two countries," the Belarus president added,
