Exports to Afghanistan sees 260pct growth from northeast Iran border

Mashhad, IRNA – Head of Dogharoun border station in northeast of Iran said on Monday that exports from Iran’s Razavi Khorasan Province to Afghanistan have had a 260-percent increase during the first five months of the Iranian year (starting on March 21) compared with the same period of the preceding year.

By 22,364 trucks, over 237,000 tons of different types of goods have been exported to Afghanistan via Dogharoun in Razavi Khorasan, northeastern Iran, during the mentioned period, Ahmad Nezam told IRNA.

Nezam referred to building materials, gasoline, and liquid gas as main products exported to Afghanistan.

He went on to say that Dogharoun is the golden gate for trade and transit through land border.

As Nezam underlined, Herat as one of important markets in Afghanistan, is located 120 km of Dogharoun.

Dogharoun is 18 km of Taibad County, in Razavi Khorasan Province.

Transit of goods through southern Iranian port of Bandar Abbas is mostly done through Dogharoun customs administration.

Commodities from Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and other Afghan neighbors are sent to Bandar Abbas, then to Dogharoun.
