Envoy: Iran ready to help Iraqis injured in hospital fire

Baghdad, IRNA – Iranian Ambassador to Iraq Iraj Masjedi expressed regret over the fire in Imam Hossein Hospital in Nasiriyah and offered Iran readiness for helping injured people.

Speaking in a phone call with Iraqi Health Ministry officials, Masjedi said Iran is ready to help those who were injured in the accident.

He expressed condolences and wished immediate recovery for the injured Iraqis.

Meanwhile, Iraqi officials appreciated Iran, saying it showed Iran's sense of humanity and good neighborliness.

Based on unofficial reports, fire in Imam Hossein Hospital in Nasiriyah has so far claimed the lives of 60 people and many other were trapped in the hospital.

Many of the COVID19 patients were hospitalized at the accident site.
