Iran’s Supreme Leader pardons over 3,700 inmates

Tehran, Nov 4, IRNA – Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei agreed to pardon or ease the jail terms of 3,780 prisoners sentenced by the public and revolutionary courts in Iran.

The Supreme Leader's amnesty was granted on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and Imam Sadeq (AS).

The amnesty was upon a proposal by the Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Ebrahim Raeisi.
