Iran resumes gas export to Turkey

Tehran, July 1, IRNA - A spokesman for the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Mohammad Asgari said on Wednesday that Iran has resumed gas exports to Turkey.

Asgari said that gas exports to Turkey were resumed with the completion of the repairs in the gas export pipeline.

He added that Iran's gas exports to Turkey are continuing as before.

Asgari further said that the explosion occurred near the Iranian border and stopped gas exports to Turkey on March 31, 2020.

The pipeline, which carries around 10 billion cubic meters of Iranian gas to Turkey annually, frequently came under attack by Kurdish militants since the 1990s and up until 2013, when a ceasefire was established.
