Fabio Carbone, a senior envoy from International Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT), met with Head of Cultural Heritage and Tourism at Tehran City Council Hassan Khalilabadi.

Khalilabadi expressed eagerness to establish mutual tourism relations between Iran and Italy, saying that Rome in Italy like Tehran in Iran is of an ancient history and civilization.

Therefore, tourism relations between the two can be a good issue for discussion, he said.

At the meeting it was agreed that the preliminary requirements of sisterhood between the two cities are provided, according to the Iranian official.

He also described tourism as a way for reaching global peace and security, with the advantage that tourists get to know other nations' cultures and traditions.

Khalilabadi said that the cooperation with institutions like Carbone works because their looks at Iran from an outside perspective can help us in promoting tourism.

Therefore, it was agreed that the peace envoy give consultations to Tehran municipality with regard to peace and fraternity in tourism.
