40th anniversary of Islamic Revolution of Iran observed in Pakistan

Islamabad, Feb 11, IRNA - Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution at a special ceremony here.

Pakistan’s Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Fahmida Mirza was the chief guest on the occasion.

The minister congratulated people and the government of Iran on behalf of the President Arif Alivi and Prime Minister Imran Khan on the 40th anniversary of the glorious victory of Islamic Revolution.

“It is my profound pleasure to join you all to celebrate the 40th anniversary of glorious Islamic Revolution,” she said.

She added that Iran and Pakistan share seven decades of friendship which has grown stronger over the years.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Muhammad Khan, former National Security Adviser Lieutenant General (R) Nasser Khan Janjua, foreign ambassadors, senior diplomats, politicians, retired generals, senior journalists and analysts attended the ceremony and congratulated Iran on the auspicious occasion.

Iranian students in Islamabad also performed national anthems of Iran and Pakistan which was warmly welcomed by the audience. A large cake was also cut to celebrate the occasion.

Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost in his speech said it is matter of great satisfaction that 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution is being celebrated along with the 70th year of Iran-Pakistan diplomatic relations.

He expressed the hope that cooperation between the two friendly countries would further strengthen in times to come. The ambassador also highlighted the importance of the Islamic Revolution in the history of Iran.

On the occasion a traditional Iranian music band Ava-e-Barbod performed live music and enthralled the audience.
