Iran hub of immunodeficiency disorder treatment

Tehran, Nov 8, IRNA – Iran is now the hub of treatment of immunodeficiency disorders, senior official at Tehran University of Medical Sciences said on Thursday.

Iran is the hub of diagnosing and treatment of immunodeficiency disorders in the region and along with Japan is the most advanced country in Asia in that terms, Deputy President of the Research Center for Immunodeficiency at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences said.

Nima Rezaei noted that Iran is more advanced than the regional countries in diagnosing and treatment of immunodeficiency disorders and is as developed as the European countries.

Many people in the neighboring countries, who suffer immunodeficiency disorders, come to Iran for treatment, the official added.

Immunodeficiency disorders prevent a person's body from fighting infections and diseases. This type of disorder makes it easier for the body to catch viruses and bacterial infections. Immunodeficiency disorders are either congenital or acquired. A congenital, or primary, disorder is one a person is born with.
