'Iran's naval forces status among the armed forces of the country is specific due to the special operation they do, and the international aspect they enjoy, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said on Tuesday.
The naval forces, like the Foreign Ministry, can be influential in developing international relations, as they have a continuous presence in Aden Gulf and Bab al-Mandab to provide the required security for the country's economic development, Sayyari added.
The commander said that the forces also contribute to Iran's development, including the role they play in developing Mokran shores in southeastern Iran.
