The quake occurred at 11:11 hours local time (0741 GMT), head of provincial Crisis Management center Reza Arbabi told IRNA.
According to the country's Seismological Center, the tremor was epicentered in an area located at 27.15 degrees latitude and 59.91 degrees longitude and at the depth of 10 km.
Arbabi said an inspection team has been sent to the area.
There is no report on possible damage or casualties caused by the earthquake.
