Official: Developments indicate PMD case nearing its closure

Tehran, Nov 28, IRNA – Head of technicians' team of Iranian nuclear negotiators Hamid Baidinezhad said on Saturday final evaluation of Iran's replies to ambiguities at IAEA has ended and developments indicate that Iran's nuclear case it nearing its closure.

Baidinezahd who in his Instagram page posted the axes of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Yukiya Amano's report to IAEA board of governors and his subsequent press conference further elaborated on his evaluation of those axes in another note.
'Amano's arguments that the agency's final evaluation of the probable military dimensions (PMD) will neither be black nor white. Being not black is quite clear since Iran's cooperation with the agency has been quite positive, but Mr. Amano himself has himself elaborated on the reason why the evaluation will not be quite white,' wrote the Iranian diplomat.
Baidinezhad quoted Amano as saying that the PMD case has been under survey for 12 years and it contains hundreds of accusations against the Iranian nuclear program to which it is not possible to give precise replies.
'Many of those accusations are related to Iran's military and defense fields and shedding light on them is in need of having access to information that Iran can by no means provide for the IAEA,' added Baidinezhad.
The Managing Director of Foreign Ministry's Political and International Security Office says when Amano argues that the upcoming IAEA report is not supposed to be quite white, or quite black that means Iran is not expected to provide replies to all claims and to clarify all ambiguities precisely.
'The agency is instead going to present a final evaluation keeping in mind the information provided for it by Iran on the country's nuclear program,' he added.
Baidinezhad also summarized axes of Mr. Amano's comments on Iranian nuclear cas as follows:

- The agreed roadmap on past and present time ambiguities between Iran and the IAEA has been completely fulfilled in accordance with the agreed time table and a brief session was held between Iranian and IAEA delegations on November 24. According to the report I have received it has been a good session and next week I will present my final evaluation to the board of governors for their decision making.
- This final evaluation will focus on the findings of the agency and I will refrain from making speculations and guesses in this evaluation. In the process of implementing the roadmap based on agreements with Iran I have received the required information from Iran and I have visited Parchin. Combination of these moves has provided an appropriate and sufficient image for the agency enabling us to present our final evaluation on Iran's present and past PMD programs.
- There should not be any expectation from the agency to present answers to all questions on the PMD issue of the Iranian nuclear program, because this file is a very complicated one with a twelve-year background.
- But the example I can present for presenting our own strategy for solving problems andand presenting a final evaluation is based on an image puzzles. You might be unable to find some pieces of the puzzle definitely, but this does not prevent you from seeing the general image. This is what I mean by saying that our report will not be fully white, or black. We have this final evaluation at hand today and next week I will present it to the board of governors so that they will have sufficient time till September 15 to study it.
- By presenting this final evaluation we at the agency will complete our job on the PMD file and it will then be the board of governors' job to decide on September 15 to close the PMD file for good.
