Addressing the ceremony, marking the 23rd departure anniversary of the late father of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini, Ayatollah Khamenei focused on the Iranian nation’s accomplishments and said that it has managed to gain whatever once looked impossible.
One of the achievements is peaceful use of nuclear energy and the nation managed to break monopoly over it and conquer the peaks of progress without any foreign help.
The other achievement pertains to the large volume of developmental projects, the Ayatollah said, noting such projects are being implemented across the country.
The Iranian engineers have managed to build the most sophisticated apparatuses and power plants by themselves, Ayatollah Khamenei said.
“We have no need to foreign experts in undertaking our projects,” he noted.
Iran’s scientific ranking in certain areas such as nanotechnology, stem cells, aerospace, biotechnology is brilliant and some of the industries do exit only in five and ten countries, he said, noting that all the progresses are made by the Iranian experts themselves.
Pointing to manifestations of democracy as another progress of the nation, the Supreme Leader said that more attention should be paid to the issue.
The Iranian nation proved that progress is possible despite the enmity with the US, he said.
The Supreme Leader noted, “There is a long way ahead of us to reach the peak.”
All the nations favor national dignity and the revolutions in the region such as Bahrain, Tunisia and Egypt are rooted in the issue, social justice and freedom.
