Israel unable to intercept old version of Iranian missiles: Belgian analyst

Tehran, IRNA- A renowned Belgian reporter and analyst of West Asia affairs says the Israeli regime’s military was able to intercept a very small number of missiles Iran’s Revolutions Guards Corps (IRGC) fired in repose to the embassy attack in Damascus.

According to IRNA's Tuesday morning report, Elijah J. Magnier wrote on his X social media account about the failure of the regime in the face of the Iranian strike.

He pointed out that the Zionist regime had more than a week to prepare for Tehran's punitive measures following the regime's missile attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria.

The missiles fired were from Iran’s oldest versions and had to travel a distance of more than 1,000 kilometers to reach the target. Still, Israel alone was not able to intercept these missiles, and received help from the US, Britain, France and Jordan, he wrote in his post.

He further pointed to the double standards of Western mainstream media in dealing with various issues, including in West Asia.

It seems that they have completely forgotten in the West that it was the Israel regime that violated international laws by attacking the Iranian consulate in Damascus and Iran had the right to defend itself based on the UN Charter, Magnier emphasized.

The IRGC on Sunday night carried out an anti-Israel operation and fired dozens of drones and missiles toward the positions of the Israeli regime in the occupied territories with the aim of punishing Tel Aviv for its deadly strike on the Iranian diplomatic mission in Syria.
