According to Al Jazeera, Al-Qassam announced on Tuesday that their fighters had ambushed Israeli soldiers and tanks in the Al-Zaneh area in the eastern Khan Yunis region of southern Gaza.
An informed source from Al-Qassam Brigades stated that only a part of the operation has been shown in the images, and the majority of the operation has not been captured.
The source said that it took 50 days to plan and execute the operation.
It also added that the military information received and constant monitoring of the occupying troops allowed them to predict their return route and machinery, and the ambush was prepared to trap them.
Israel waged its brutal war on besieged Gaza on October 7 after Hamas carried out an unprecedented operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.
Israel has imposed a complete siege on the densely populated territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.
On March 25, the UN Security Council passed a resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire in Gaza during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. While Hamas welcomed the resolution, Israel rejected the ceasefire call and vowed to continue its war on the Palestinian enclave.
Israel stands blamed for genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which in January issued an interim ruling that ordered it to stop genocidal acts and take measures to guarantee that humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.
