Member of Hamas politburo Sami Abu Zuhri said late on Sunday that the deadly attack earlier in the day on US soldiers on the border between Jordan and Syria was a clear message to Washington that it must stop supporting the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
“The killing of three American soldiers is a message to the US administration that unless the killing of innocents in Gaza stops, it must confront the entire (Muslim) nation,” he told Reuters.
US officials said on Sunday that three service members had been killed and more than 30 others had been injured in a drone attack on Tower 22, a small US outpost in Jordan near the border with Syria.
The attack is the deadliest on US troops since the start of the war in Gaza in early October when resistance groups in the region launched a military campaign against US and Israeli interests to force them to end the aggression against Palestine.
