Amirabdollahian stressed that the initiative to create a forum of ancient civilizations was a measure to create a more cultural and peaceful world, and considered inter-civilizational cooperation as an element of soft power of the member states, which can be used for Introducing a new discourse in the global arena and helping to solve common human problems.
The Iranian foreign minister stated that one of the missions of ancient civilizations is to fight the discourse of supremacy, dominance, exclusivity and racism, and stressed that the world today continues to suffer from the effects of the discourse of dominance and violence, instrumental use of international principles and norms, and double standards.
Amirabdollahian further described the situation in Gaza as sad and by referring to the history of more than 7 decades of occupation, which is a living and ongoing history, and the crimes of the "fake Israeli regime", the silence of some claimants of the rule-oriented world and claimants of human rights is strongly condemned.
He condemned the actions of the "Zionist regime" in killing more than 20,000 people of Gaza and displacing them, and the actions of the "Israeli regime" in erasing Islamic cultural and civilizational monuments in the Holy of Holies and Gaza.
And he emphasized that while condemning these crimes, countries with ancient civilizations are expected to use all of their capacities to stop this situation and try war criminals in an international court.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs continued by condemning the insulting of holy books and the Holy Quran, and emphasized that the responsible governments are expected to play their role in maintaining civilized, cultural and religious interaction and understanding between nations by criminalizing and prosecuting the perpetrators of these actions.
The Assembly of Ancient Civilizations, consisting of 10 countries, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Armenia, Italy, Bolivia, Peru, China, Iraq, Egypt, Mexico and Greece, has been established in 2017, and the Islamic Republic of Iran as the periodic president and host of this assembly in 2023 was in charge of the 7th meeting of the member countries of the Assembly of Ancient Civilizations held in Tehran on Thursday with the presence of Amirabdollahian.
In this meeting, officials and representatives of 10 member countries of the Assembly of Ancient Civilizations were present.
