In a meeting in Tehran on Tuesday with Igor Levitin, an aide to the President of the Russian Federation, Ahmadian also stressed the importance of giving a boost to other agreements signed between Tehran and Moscow, including those on the oil and gas cooperation.
He highlited the significance of an agreement signed by the presidents of the two countries on construction of Rasht-Astara railway, as a main part of the INSTC corridor, adding that construction of this railroad will be a major step in strengthening economic relations between the two neighboring countries.
The Russian official, for his part, congratulated Ahmadian for being appointed as Iran’s new SNSC secretary.
He briefed the Iranian top security official on the latest developments in trade and banking relations between Iran and Russia.
Levitin said that Moscow is committed to speedy implementation of the agreements with Tehran and lifting the obstacles on the way of cooperation.
