Nikolai Patrushev arrived in Tehran on Tuesday evening at an invitation sent to him by Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, the secretary of Iran National Security Council and the Supreme Leader's representative at that council.
The secretary of Russia National Security Council will in this visit in addition to his host and counterpart also meet with some other high ranking Iranian political and economic officials and exchange views on further expansion of bilateral relations and international developments of mutual interest.
Patrushev is accompanied by officials of some Russian economic organizations in this visit.
